'The farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.''

The forgotten opera houses dotting New York’s Hudson Valley rivertowns were once indispensable venues for art and culture in 19th and early-20th centuries. These beacons of luxury and enchantment were the soul of a community.

Opera House Co. honors the legacy of these grand structures with a collection of storied furnishings and decor that draw contemporary inspiration from bygone eras.

Designer, curator, and founder of Opera House, Whitney Parshall is a multi hyphenated creative with a diverse background in various fields. Prior to launching her own brand, Whitney worked as an interior stylist for Anthropologie's "Anthro Living." Before entering the world of design, she had a career in television production for networks such as the History Channel and Food Network.

Her experience in television fueled her passion for storytelling and history, which seamlessly translates into her design work. She artfully incorporates historical elements in a way that resonates with the contemporary context, resulting in visually stunning spaces that also tell captivating stories. Whitney divides her time between the bustling city of New York and the serene Hudson River Valley, where she collaborates with her husband, Isaak James, on the restoration and reimagination of old homes.
